The Dapeng Design Lab（2024） has officially kicked off, which is sponsored by the Management Committee of Dapeng New District, Shenzhen， and organized by the Tourism Development and Cultural Sports Bureau and the Development and Finance Bureau of Dapeng New District.
The program features two main events: the “Pengyou Cup” Design Competition and the “Pengyou Camp” Global University Design Workshop.
Invited by the mountains and the sea, guided by famous teachers, and youth flying, let the art wave connect you and Dapeng! We sincerely invite college students from all over the world to sign up for “Pengyou Camp”!
Dapeng New District, characterized by its blue rivers and green cityscapes, stands as the only national tourism reform and innovation pilot zone in Guangdong Province. As a national all-for-one tourism demonstration zone in Shenzhen and a popular destination in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Dapeng attracts millions of visitors annually with its picturesque landscapes and rich cultural heritage. This reveals the immense potential of Dapeng’s culture and tourism sectors. Today, people increasingly recognize Dapeng as a way of life, as this urban district merges with nature.
The workshop takes the perspective and creativity of young students as its starting point and provides a platform for emerging talents in art and design to showcase their creativity and foster artistic collaboration and exchange. We welcome students from design-related majors at universities all over the world to participate and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration among students from different academic backgrounds to spark creative ideas.
During the activity, college students and their mentors will form a team to carry out in-depth research and design work in Dapeng local. The mentors and the students will combine the local environmental conditions and residents’demands for quality of life to design and create, leaving creative and iconic works to show artistic charm, convey the concept of making the city better by design, and create a new business card of Dapeng cultural tourism.

Note: All dates provided are in Beijing Time (GMT+8). The sponsor and organizers reserve the right to adjust the schedule as appropriate.
(2) Expected harvest
Students will work in groups to promote the design and construction. Each group will put forward a concept plan and refine it in stages. Finally, they will participate in the ground construction of the plan in Dapeng, including the preliminary investigation, concept extraction, space optimization, material selection, and node design. The expected outcomes are as follows:
- Led by professional tutors, exchange and study with outstanding partners from various universities;
- Full participation in design and field construction activities;
- Master the basic methods and skills of integrated implementation of projects from design to construction;
- To understand the construction process and related technologies of small-scale structures and landscape pieces;
- Internship certificates and activity completion certificates.
(3) Fee Standard
No fee for registration will be charged in this event by the sponsors and the organizers. The sponsors will provide the venue, guidance, materials for construction, organization, information, publicity, and certification of the internship. Meals, accommodation, and transportation during the camp will be at your own expense.
04 Requirements and methods for registration
To register, you need to submit the “Pengyou Camp” Global University Design Camp Application Form, student-proof certification materials, portfolio (if available, the file format should be PDF, the size of the file should be no more than 20MB), and send it to dpdz-camp@lingyuezx.com.

Registration Requirements
Domestic and foreign students in architectural design, urban planning design, landscape architecture, environment and art design, visual communication, sustainable design, tourism management, and other related professional fields.
The sponsor and organizers will comprehensively evaluate the application documents submitted by the students and inform them of the selected candidates via email. No further notice will be given to students who are not selected.
