On September 17, 2019, the Prequalification Meeting of the International Consultation on Urban Design for the Coastal Area of Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone of Shenzhen Municipality, jointly organized by Planning and Natural Resources Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality and Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone Management Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, and undertaken by Shenshan Administration, Planning and Natural Resources Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, was held in Shenzhen Municipal Planning Building. The jury panel of prequalification was constituted by 7 experts in areas of urban planning & design and architectural design (Zhu Rongyuan, Ma Xiangming, Li Lixun, Zhang Shiyu, Lin Yi, Fei Xiaohua, Guo Xiaoli) with Mr. Zhu Rongyuan as the chairman. They read and carried out discussion & evaluation on all the application documents submitted by 61 registered design firms. According to the disclosed voting result, six invited consulting firms to enter the next-stage consultation and two alternatives are as follows:

• Consortium: Tongji Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd. & AREP Architectural Design Consulting (Beijing) Co., Ltd. & China Water Resources Pearl River Planning Surveying and Designing Co., Ltd.;

• Consortium: Lab Architecture Studio Pty. Ltd. & XO Projects Pty. Ltd. & Smartland Studio;

• Consortium: Architectural Design & Research Institute of SCUT Co., Ltd. & OBERMEYER Engineering Consulting (Beijing) Co., Ltd.

Alternatives (In case any invited consulting firm quits, they can take its place in order.):

First Alternative: Consortium: Perkins + Will Architecture Design Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd & SPD Planning Design Corporation;

Second Alternative: Consortium:Urban Planning & Design Institute of Shenzhen Co., Ltd. & CallisonRTKL Architectural Design Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. & The Pearl River Hydraulic Research Institute.
