On October 12, 2019, the Prequalification Meeting of the International Planning and Design Competition for the Slow Traffic System of Hongshan Cross-railway Section in Shenzhen North Station CBD, hosted by the People’s Government of Longhua District, Shenzhen, and jointly undertaken by Shenzhen Longhua District Construction and Promotion Center for Major Regions, Longhua District Urban Administration and Law Enforcement Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, and Government Investment Projects Preliminary Work Management Center of Shenzhen Longhua District (Rail Transit Construction Management Center), was held in the meeting room, Floor 4, Shenzhen Longhua District Construction and Promotion Center for Major Regions. The jury panel of prequalification was constituted by five experts in areas of urban planning & design, architectural design and bridge design, and two representatives from the organizers. They read and carried out discussion & evaluation on all the application documents submitted by twenty-eight registered design teams independently or in consortiums, which are consisted of fifty-one design firms at home and abroad . According to the multi-round disclosed voting result, five invited firms to enter the design competition at next stage and two alternatives are as follows:

Five Invited Firms (In no particular order):

• Consortium: LAY-OUT Planning Consultants Co., Ltd.&Land+Civilisation Compositions& Shenzhen Municipal Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd.;
• Consortium: OKRA landschapsarchitecten B.V. &NEXT architects &China Urban Construction Design and Research Institute Co. Ltd.;
• Consortium: STEFANO BOERI ARCHITETTI &Tongji Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd. & Tongji University;
• Consortium: Shenzhen Fangcheng Architectural Design Consultants Co., Ltd. & Beijing General Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd.;
• Swooding Architects Limited.

Alternatives (In case any invited firm quits, they can take its place in order.):

First Alternative: Consortium: Shenzhen Institute of Building Research Co., Ltd. & MLA+ B. V. &PLACE MATRIX DESIGN CONSULTANCY LIMITED;

Second Alternative: Shenzhen CAPOL International & Associates Co., Ltd.

We will issue the Invitation to Invitation to Draft the Design Scheme to the shortlisted six firms. Furthermore, we will organize the Site Visit& Q&A Session on Oct. 21, 2019.

Those registered design firms that have met the registration requirements but failed to receive the Invitation can voluntarily take part in the next stage of design competition. If those design firms would like to take part in it, they shall send the Confirmation Letter of Participation (see the Appendix) to benecus@qq.com before 17:00, Oct. 18, 2019to confirm their participation in the design competition at next stage. If their schemes meet the requirements set in the design brief, the can take part in the review. Except the design compensation, they will enjoy equal opportunity to win the bonus and get the design commission as the invited firms.
