The International Architecture Design Competition for Shenzhen Maritime Museum (the Competition) is about to kick off, and the details will be released soon.  As one of the “Ten New Major Cultural Facilities” in Shenzhen, the Competition is jointly organized by the Planning and Natural Resources Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality (Municipal Ocean and Fisheries Bureau) and the Engineering Design Management Center of Bureau of Public Works of Shenzhen Municipality.

Located in Longqi Bay (Xinda Area) of Dapeng Peninsula, Shenzhen Maritime Museum neighbors Xindong Road in Nan’ao on the south, Qiniang Mountain on the east, the sea on the north, and a planned site for recreational facilities on the west. The main building of the Museum is tentatively planned with a site area of 57,700㎡ and a GFA of 100,000㎡, while the overwater works are tentatively planned with a GFA of 8,000㎡. The Project aims to create a leading national maritime museum with such comprehensive functions as exhibition, collection storage, technology, education, public services, business and research, as well as administrative offices.
