November 23, 2018 15:29After 35 years of rapid development and extensive construction, Shenzhen's incremental expansion has slowed down, and the urban renewal and redevelopment of stock buildings is in full swing. The huge amount of old architectural heritage which is unqualified to be included in cultural relics protection lists has presented us with a mission to establish a new concept of heritage and value, re-understand and re-evaluate the new and old historical heritages of Shenzhen, so that various heritages can coexist and prosper in the ongoing updating city. This is the purpose of Shenzhen Center for Design to conduct theoretical and practical exploration and hold exhibitions themed "New Heritage, New Value". The exhibition space and content are filled with overlapping layouts of the new and the old, expressing the notion that development and heritage can coexist and create new values. It's deemed the most intuitive explanation of "New Heritage, New Value" methodology.
