[Q City-Shenzhen Architectural Guide] Guide: Overview of Shenzhen Architectures
July 05, 2013 18:17Office of Urban Design, Urban Planning, Land & Resources Commission of Shenzhen Municipality launched the" Q City" project to optimize the form, function, environment, taste, civilization and competitiveness of the city through a series of projects closely related to Shenzhen's urban development and public services. The focus has shifted from environment construction to both environment construction and quality improvement. The project was aimed at strengthening the humanized design and artistic transformation of urban architectures while vigorously promoting the construction of ecological civilization.
Q City-Shenzhen Architectural Guide Officially Published!
November 16, 2018 17:20As the city at the frontier of the reform and opening up, urban development in Shenzhen is unique and different from other inland cities. In addition, the diverse forms of architecture ranging from modern buildings essential for international metropolises to urban village buildings in low-cost living areas all reflect the characteristics of Shenzhen. At present, there are few yet highly professional compilation publications about architectures in Shenzhen, making it difficult to promote and popularize among the public. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a guide book that records architectural information in a lucid style to spark public interest and enhance their aesthetic appreciation of architeture.

November 21, 2018 10:18In the afternoon of December 5th, 2015, the next day after the opening ceremony of 2015 Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture, Shenzhen Center for Design held the book launch for Q City-Shenzhen Architectural Guide and Q City-Shenzhen Urban Design Map at the café of Shekou Exhibition Hall. Linda Vlassenrood, project director of International New Town Institute, and Jeffery Johnson, director of Studio x of Columbia University and academic director of 2013 UABB, were invited.

[Q City-Shenzhen Architectural Guide] Project Plan and Pre-research of Q City-Shenzhen Urban Design Map
December 20, 2012 17:00Starting from how to balance the goals of professionalism and popularity, the pre-research turned the map into a name card of city which fully displayed the characteristics of Shenzhen culture and life in the form of hand drawings, which was in line with the public aesthetics. The guide was compiled through case comparison, current situation research and evaluation, combining with Shenzhen's characteristics and appeals and collecting materials from various channels.
