During the past golden week of National Day Holiday, Shenzhen has been in continuous rainstorms, which is a big test for its stormwater management. In recent years, all major city has faced the problem of waterlogging at rainy days . However, whether it is waterlogging or water shortage, the decline in water storage capacity is the key factor. Therefore, building a sponge city that enables it to "breathe" is regarded as solution to this problem. In 2015, Shenzhen’s ninth "Council Chamber" discussed some issues of sponge city. Serving as a rehearsal, today’s Cool Chat invited experts in related fields to think about how sponge city should be built, what misunderstandings should be avoided, how far would sponge city go and etc.
