SUMMARY:
In the first half of 2015, the second frontier (once a border line between Shenzhen SEZ and Bao'an, Longgang Districts) which has been accompaning the rapid development of Shenzhen was officially removed. During the past thirty years, the second frontier has shaped the form of Shenzhen as well as the memory of Shenzhen people. Its removal has solved traffic problems. Nowadays, we should consider how to treat this historical heritage. Thus, the removal of the second frontier as a kind of urban transformation is actually a comprehensive topic. In today’s Cool Chat, we invited personnel from city transportation planning department and residents to recall the story of the second frontier and talk about the integration of space resources and heritage treatment after its removal.
