SZSE: Koolhaas's Architectural Typology of Skyscrapers

7256 Reads

SUMMARY:

The buildings by Koolhaas often have simple but shocking appearances. As the studio name Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) suggests, his "typology" of architecture ultimately depends on the context of the city. It is in urban context that "they" (rather than "it") are meaningful. In other words, his architectural typology is in essence a city-architecture typology.
