Seminar for Comprehensive Regulation Project of Jiaochangwei B&B
September 18, 2018 18:47On January 19th, the seminar for comprehensive regulation of Jiaochangwei B&B was hosted at Value Factory UABB (former Guangdong Float Glass Factory), where a heated discussion was held among representatives of Urban Planning, Land & Resources Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, owners, architects and staff at Shenzhen Center for Design. After visiting the exhibition hall, architects and owners were expected to employ the methods of "restoring the old as it once was" and other means apart from large-scale demolition and construction to maintain its architectural texture.
Towards Ordinary and Great Coastal Village
September 18, 2018 18:33The purpose of this activity was to inject excellent design ideas into the regulation process of Jiaochangwei on the premise of full respect and protection to the ecological condition of the area. It also aimed to explore new ways of design and production by involving architects into the spontaneous construction by villagers. With integration of professional skills, design ideas and actual needs, the project hoped to maximize government resources to support the transformation.

September 18, 2018 15:50In its 30-year history, Shenzhen University (SZU) has cultivated outstanding business elites like Ma Huateng (Pony Ma) and Shi Yuzhu. Many alumni have gradually established their pioneering, pragmatic and innovative entrepreneurial images in all walks of life. While being widely recognized by the society through enterprising spirits and hard work, alumni from School of Architecture have also been adhering to and pursuing their dreams. The curatorial team sent invitation to all alumni of School of Architecture and Urban Planning and targeted invitation to alumni with outstanding performances in the industry. A total of 36 works from 26 architects were selected for exhibition.

Trip to Local Architects' Studios
September 18, 2018 14:23Three representative local designer firms opened their doors to the public and showed the most lively side of their "DreamWorks". A movie selected by a democratic vote, a multifunctional Ping-Pong table and a plate of delicate sushi... would be served. Architects were by no means a group of seemingly formidable professionals, but dreamers of the city who fulfill their ambitions in reality.
