In the SMALL & SMART DESIGN COMPETITION 2.0, the selected design team of the People's Primary School entrance and the Lixin Garden entrance is the only composite team among the competitors – of which only one member is an architect. However, the two projects it proposed were well received by the judges and residents, as the needs of the residents and the design embodied in the projects reaching a delicate balance. This is not an easy task. It has always been the starting point but as well as a problem for the community micro-renewal project to design and renovate from the perspective of the residents. It takes a lot of time and efforts to communicate and coordinate with residents.

In this interview, they shared the detailed work experience from research to implementation for the community micro-renewal, and the difficulties of entering into a non-professional filed, and took their actual operations in every link as an example to explain what is to "think the entire transformation plan from the perspective of community residents." All their observations, perceptions, devotion and enthusiasm for Lixin community provide great experience and inspiration for the exploration of community micro-renewal.
