SUMMARY:

Koolhaas chose the "Fundamentals" as the theme of the 2014 Venice Biennale. For the first time, he examined the buildings in an anatomic way and delved into the elements of architecture that architects face every day but tend to ignore. He aimed to return to the "fundamentals" of building itself and to explore the possibilities of "modernity", then discuss them as globalized elements of architecture. This is exactly the reflection of new modernity in the context of globalization.
