SUMMARY：

Characteristic towns, as important places for implementation of "New-Type Urbanization" and industrial upgrading, are flourishing across China. But problems such as blind development, dependence on the government, slow process and lack of characteristics also popped up during the construction. Recently, Shenzhen planned to build 15 characteristic towns, which presents real-world challenges like how to seize opportunities, face problems, introduce new ideas, cultivate and construct distinctive towns. Builders of characteristic towns in Shenzhen were invited to this Cool Chat to explore how to plan and build rationally, and to discuss the future of characteristic towns after its boom through introduction of theories and experience.
