This forum invited two experts from American Planning Association (APA), Mr. Mitchell Silver and Mr. William Paul Farmer, to share the business and characteristics of APA. Since both China and America are developing rapidly, they share similar development trajectories and problems as well. The same is true for urban planning, so communication and cooperation are meaningful. Mr. Mitchell Silve believed that the task of urban design was to interpret the city, to expose and strengthen the city's characteristics, to reflect its culture and express its human perspective. He also introduced some cases of American planning and design accordingly.
