Global Urban Datafest is a creative activity at multi-national and multi-city level. The theme of this year is “Smart City”. Within two days, teams consisting of makers, urban experts,data analysts, programming/open source hardware enthusiasts worked together to solve urban issues. Datafest focuses both on analyzing data and developing software and hardware for using or producing data. By interviewing citizens, urban management officers and traffic management department, Shenzhen Center for Design sorted out a series of “Shenzhen Requirements”, from which participating teams can pick one issue tosolve or raise a new urban issue. Datafest is a platform that connects like-minded people. If you are interested in programming, data, hardware DIY or urban issues, this two-day event will be a good beginning for you.
