Statistics show that there are nearly 2 million passengers taking the subway every day in Shenzhen and the demand from public for culture and art in public space is on the rise. After the fulfillment of transportation service function of subway, the development of public art in subway can make it a cultural window and bring passengers aesthetic enjoyment . However, subway can not serve as a gallery by simply placing works of art in it. We need to bring about interactions between the public and the works of art to convey the public art spirit of the subway gallery by taking into account public’s aesthetic taste and conditions of exhibiton of subway. We hope to receive active response from aspiring curators with this recruitement, and to explore and promote the development of art in public space by this platform for art practice.
