Walking Past the Future was filmed in Shenzhen. My friends who are in the movie industry hurried to spread the news and looked forward to seeing what Shenzhen would be like in the eyes of director Li Ruizhen. Due to my job, I paied special attention to the urban pictures, and I matched them with the map in my heart. This was Hubei Village, this was Xinzhou Village, and that was Baishizhou Village... Of course, it did not have to correspond with the real world. Shenzhen in the movie can also be a fictional city. What impressed me was the prospect of a huge urban landscape with two people in the front. This was related to the city writing in Shenzhen that we encouraged, which meant, in addition to planning, architecture and design, we should also pay attention to the society, culture, life, and people in the city. We hoped that readers of this column would feel and recognize the current Shenzhen city (and distinguish this column from others for its relatively focused urban perspective), and gradually be more acquainted with a specific part of Shenzhen, so that we can encourage more public participation in urban design. In Ewbar's article, you would read about the land dilemma in migration, the portraits of women in factory, and the future of different urban villages she saw in the movie. Since Avengers: Infinity Waris is dominateng the cinema, she wrote this article to promote Walking Past the Future.
