Wanshi Habitat is located in the southwest of Pingshan New District. It is a typical representative of the Hakka cultural architecture in Pingshan and a provincial cultural relics protection unit. In conjunction with the Research on Urban Design of Surrounding Areas of Wanshi Habitat project commissioned by the Pingshan Administration, Urban Planning, Land & Resources Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, Shenzhen Center for Design invited young designers from Urban Planning & Design Institute of Shenzhen, Urbanspace Planning And Archetectural Design Co. Ltd (Shenzhen) and Zhubo Design Co.Ltd to provide suggestions to the focus issues in the form of workshops. The final proposal was to introduce a parametric urban management model to scientifically and reasonably manage and update the district, and to establish an objective and flexible urban renewal planning mechanism.
