SUMMARY:

Currently, the mileage of Shenzhen rail transit system totals 178 kilometers, with118 stops. By the end of 2014, Shenzhen rail transit system has handled 3.98 million passengers, accounting for 27.8% of public transportation uses, making it the mainstay of public transportation in Shenzhen. However, the “last mile” of rail transit system are faced with multiple problems such as poor quality of public space, unsophisticated walking and cycling system. The research group conducted an online survey on the problems with the last-mile transportation in Shenzhen this March, which was greeted with active responses from the citizens.
