Wanshi Habitat is located in the southwest of Pingshan New District. It is a typical representative of the Hakka cultural architecture in Pingshan and a provincial cultural relics protection unit. In order to protect and make good use of this cultural tourism resource, relevant departments have successively organized the compilation of the Protection Plan of Wanshi Habitat and Plan of Protecting the Wanshi Habitat Hakka Museum in Pingshan New District & Establishing and Developing Surrounding Creative Industrial Park. However, these plans covered little about the overall control and guidance of urban design in the surrounding areas, and failed to effectively control and guide the promotion of overall city image of the region. Therefore, the Pingshan Administration, Urban Planning, Land & Resources Commission of Shenzhen Municipality commissioned Shenzhen Center for Design to conduct a pre-study on the urban design of the surrounding areas of Wanshi Habitat.
